Two Liverpool fans have been attacked in Naples ahead of the Reds’ Champions League fixture from Napoli, according to Merseyside Police.
Liverpool will begin their Champions League defence on Tuesday night in Italy, however there were problems with fan violence before the match.
Merseyside Police have confirmed two men.
The police announcement read:”At approximately 6pm local time (5pm GMT), it had been reported that a range of males on scooters approached the fans at a bar in the city before attacking them.
“Two men in the UK, dated 26 and 46, sustained superficial cuts and grazes to the head and have been treated at the spectacle prior to continuing to attend the game.
“Local authorities are aware and Merseyside Police are operating together with authorities coworkers in Naples to aid in the policing of their Champions League fixture.”
