NASCAR’s first visit to the Roval (half road course, half oval) is going to likely be at Charlotte per week plus a whole lot is up for debate.
Can this race play very similar to a road course like Watkins Glen with several wide open segments where motorists can get some pace, or can it perform more as an intermediate course where drivers Martin Truex Jr. and Kevin Harvick have dominated so often over the past two years?
The truth lies somewhere in the middle, or possibly a bit. BET Chicago states the Roval can play 33 percent like Charlotte Motor Speedway, 33 percent just like Watkins Glen and another 33 percent like an intermediate class.
That is a lot but this is a race where moving chalk is the smartest choice. Watkins Glen is loved by kyle Busch; he’s success on intermediate tracks as well and he’s coming from a win. If he isn’t out ahead, he is the favored at 3/1 and will be stalking the leader.
