Sarla Arora is a woman, who runs a marriage hall and she has two daughters named Pragya and Bulbul. She is spending her life with the hope that one day, her daughters will be married and they will lead their own lives.

Pragya is her elder daughter and she has completed here education. She started working as teacher at a college. She is practical, hardworking and committed girl and she wants to help her mother in running their home. She knows that her mother earns little amount from their ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ marriage hall and she wants to help her mother but she has forgotten about her that she has her own feelings and sensations. Bulbul is her younger daughter and she is a day dreaming, well-groomed, energetic and stylish girl, who has her own life. In this drama serial, the story moves around the two sisters with their dreams, hopes and aspirations.

On the other hand, there is Abhi, who is a rockstar. He is close friend of Suresh, who is professor at college and he works close with Pragya. He led the hard life and he has great frustration about his life. Purab is best friend of Abhi and he handles the work concerning with Abhi and is the manager of his own. Bulbul takes interest in him and he works as boss of Bulbul. On the other side, Aaliya, sister of Abhi wants to marry with Purab but she knows that he has some relations with one daughter of Arora. She tries that Abhi should marry with Pragya. She has the thinking that she will be suited for her brother and her grandmother also thinks so. When the marriage is done, then Abhi, Aaliya and Tanu, girlfriend of Abhi torture her being rude and she has also put blame on her & there are many other reasons for this insult. She knows that Purab loves her sister, Bulbul but she does not prepare to reveal this secret and she also convinces her sister, Bulbul as well.
