In one of the older and more modest neighborhoods of Istanbul, the beautiful and young Iffet lives with her father and younger sister. With Cemil, a taxi driver at the local taxi station, she is deeply in love. Iffet hopes that Cemil will propose to her one day. In fact, Cemil has bigger plans and he doesn’t want to marry Iffet. One day he’ll be so rich that he live an exotic life elsewhere and leave the middle-class neighborhood. Cemil starts pushing Iffet about sharing her bed before they marry as she continues her clandestine relationship with him and during one unfortunate day of wedding of Iffet’s best friend Serpil, he first comes on strong to Iffet and then rapes her while drunk and out of control. With a marriage proposal, Cemil begs for her forgiveness and Iffet hopes everything will be okay afterwards and turn around but it doesn’t happen.
